You are My Father, I am Your Son

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Hebrews 12:5-6

Are you finding it hard to deal with the Lord disciplining you? It does hurt, not so much physically, but emotionally, knowing that my choices, my decisions, my thoughts or priorities were not in line with the Lord’s. While discipline is hard to deal with to make corrections, it is amazing to know that God accepts me as his son. The God of the universe addresses me as he does his son? That he accepts me as his son? I will gladly take when he rebukes me and work through any discipline my Father God places on me, because he loves me.
