Victory Over Sin

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9 NIV
We are not perfect. We all sin, perhaps unintentionally or driven by emotions, even if you’ve walked with Christ for 20 years. Isn’t it good to know that God will forgive us if we confess our sin. But, have you ever found yourself confessing the same sin over and over? God forgives you, but you are not experiencing victory over this sin. Confession’s partner, repentance, may be what’s missing. Repentance includes being sorry for the sin, but also needs a turning away from the sin. Repentance and confession coupled together with God’s forgiveness brings victory over sin.
