Trusting Him

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse. 1 Chronicles 10:13-14

Saul, the first human king of Israel, God’s anointed choice for the kingship, humble at the beginning, great leader against the Philistines, but slipped into disobedience and spiritual decline. God tore the kingdom away from Saul and anointed David as the next king of Israel. David would not harm Saul despite knowing God would make David king. After multiple opportunities with David remaining true to the God of Israel, Saul is killed in battle. It would still be years before David is king over Judah and Israel, but he never waivers in trusting the Lord to keep His promises. We may grow anxious or weary over the Lord’s promises we are still waiting on, but know He is not slow to act, and He does not slumber or sleep. He is faithful and true. Trust and depend on our Lord Jesus.
