The Mindset of Christ
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:3-5
I have one goal, to be more like Jesus each day. Jesus wasn’t selfish nor conceited. What was Jesus’ mindset? Certainly doing the Father’s will, even to the cross was a big part of it. Jesus by nature, God, made himself nothing and became a man. That’s not saying that man is nothing, but in comparison to God, Jesus lowered himself from creator to something he created. Then further humbled himself to allow men to put him to death in order to carry out the Father’s plan. In our relationships with the church body we all need to have a Christ mindset of humbling ourselves completely to do the Father’s will. Be content, willing to be last rather than first. Put the weaker above the stronger. Be joyful to serve others rather than be served. Carry out the Father’s plan each day.
