That You May Know
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the LORD.” Exodus 10:1-2
God knew Pharaoh had a hard heart. It was not the Lord that hardened Pharaoh’s heart to start, but He took Pharaoh’s hardened heart and made it harder to accomplish His purpose. What was His purpose? That you, your children, and grandchildren, in other words, all your descendants may know that He is the LORD. For His people, the Lord cares for them, He loves them, He is their shepherd, He is their deliverer, He is their Savior. That has not changed to this day. As Hebrews 13:8 tells us, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Lean on Him in the darkest of your times; He is strong. Call out to Him when no one else is there, He hears your cry. Praise Him with a thankful heart when He gets you through the big or small crisis; He will never leave you nor forsake you.
