Renewing Your Mind

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2Corinthians 12:9 NIV
  Just before God’s words, Paul asked Him three times to remove the tormenting messenger of Satan who Paul called a thorn in his flesh.  God’s reply was not to grant Paul’s plea, but rather to give him His grace to withstand it.  Paul gladly took Christ’s power in his life over having his weakness removed.  Paul’s weaknesses remained, but his perspective, his mind changed.  It was renewed by God’s Word!  Paul now saw the situation through God’s eyes, and could glorify Christ and His power being manifest because of Paul’s weaknesses.  Always bring your petitions, your prayer requests to God.  Trust in Him, as His answer may be completely different than what you think needs to be done.  But know, that God will cause it all to work for good if you trust Him and follow Him.
