Day 2: The Root You Cannot See

Moses warned Israel about a root that produces bitter poison — a person whose heart turns away from God. The writer of Hebrews connects this directly to unforgiveness. Think about how a root works: you don't see it. It's underground. Hidden. But it is actively doing something below the surface the whole time. A root from a tree can eat its way through a septic line without anyone knowing until the backup happens. Bitterness does the same thing in you. You can look fine on Sunday and have a bitter root growing all week. But the fruit eventually shows up. Don't wait until the damage surfaces.
