Firstfruits

“Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God.” Exodus 23:19

God says he will meet all our needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. He tells us to tithe, to trust Him and test Him whether He will keep His promise to meet our needs. The test based on a physical response, giving Him your firstfruits, is really a test of your heart. If He can provide for all your physical needs, He doesn’t need your money or possessions. What He wants is your heart that trusts Him for everything you need. Does that mean you sit back and do nothing but wait on the Lord? Likely not. His provision for you may be the job you just got, or the promotion you just received. May your heart’s desire be reflected in your actions.
