Bursting Flames of Power
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:6-7
Paul saw Timothy had sincere faith in God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Seeing his faith Paul urges Timothy to fan into flames the spiritual gifts God gave him. Anyone who has worked a wood or charcoal fire knows how fanning live coals causes them to burst into flame releasing great heat (power). Do you gifts that need power? Or maybe gifts that haven’t been used much, but there are still live coals waiting to be stirring up or fanned to flame. Remember God gave us gifts to be used with power from the Holy Spirit. Let the Spirit burst you into flame and release His power.
