And that’s our goals as a believer too… To reflect and point to the Glory of God and to follow Him to the ends of the earth. “Follow me as I follow Him.”

Continuing our Vineyard series looking at the parallels of the life of a believer to the life of a vineyard; this week looks at the “grape to bottle” process. The crushing that happens with salvation and opening of our flesh to the light of the Son. The pressing of being discipled into transformation and the fullness of life He has for us. The bottling of making disciples – identifying the wine to come, walking them through maturing, and releasing them like distributing the wine to its final destination.

Vineyard – Preparing for Harvest

Continuing in the Vineyard series, comparing the life of a believer to the life cycle of a vineyard…. Second critical process to establish during years 3-5 of the Vineyard, is cleaning in preparation of the upcoming harvest. No one wants to drink the wine produced in a dirty barrel. No one wants to find out there’s a leak after it’s filled with precious wine. It’s also the time where there is a small harvest going on, to test the vines for strength, quality, and sustainability. And to test the vineyard for good production habits. Are you ready for the harvest? Are you ready to work in the field? Are you ready to be a vessel?

Vineyard – Pruning Anxiety

Years 3-5 of a Vineyard, the vine dressing is critical. That means pruning will happen. But who does the pruning is key to future fruit production. The vine can’t prune itself, it needs the skillful hands of the Vine Dresser. Did you know anxiety comes from trying to control everything? Did you also know you can’t control everything? So it only makes sense if we surrender control to the Vine Dresser, our anxiety would be replaced with joy.

Vineyard – Connecting to Community

Did you know that there are two things that are critical to the success of a vineyard that must happen in the first three years from planting? First – a strong root system must be established (listen to last week’s session “Vineyard – Rooted in Jesus”), and the vine branches must become thoroughly entwined to be able to support full production of the fruit to come. If Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches; are you connected to a local church community? Are you so thoroughly entwined with fellow believers that your can bear the fruit to come? Vineyard – Rooted In Jesus

In Part 2 of Vineyard (where we look at the life of a believer in relation to a vineyard); we take a deep look at the root system. Did you know the first three years of a vineyard are devoted to establishing a strong root system? Without it, the vines will never be able to support a viable, and consistent fruit production. In John 15:1 Jesus says, “I am the grapevine, and My Father is the gardener.” Tune in to understand what this means to your life and fruitfulness as the branch.
