Day 6: Eyes Opened

Why Isn't God Answering Me? · Living With Wisdom · July 25, 2026

Scripture
As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! — Luke 24:30-31 (NLT)
Luke 24:30-31

They recognized Jesus during communion — in the breaking of bread — but not during the seven-mile walk. How often do we do the same? We come to church, take communion, sing worship songs, and see Jesus clearly in those moments. But we fail to recognize Him at work, in our families, at the hospital, in the middle of our grief. Jesus has not been absent from your hardest moments. He has been present the whole time. The veil was not on His side — it was on yours. Grief and pain can blind us, but He has never stopped walking beside you. Ask Him today to open your eyes to where He is already at work.

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see You in the ordinary moments of my life — not just at church, but at work, at home, and in the middle of my pain. Thank You that You have been here all along.
