Why Isn't God Answering Me? · Living With Wisdom · July 25, 2026
Agur is the only wisdom writer in Proverbs who openly confesses he does not have it figured out. He spent his life gathering wisdom, and the first thing he says is: I am too stupid to be human. God included this in Scripture because the beginning of real wisdom is knowing how much you do not know. Most of us do not find peace in hard seasons because we are trying to find certainty before we find trust. The best question you can ask in your situation is not 'Why is this happening to me?' or 'When will this be over?' but 'God, how are You working in this situation?' That shift in perspective is where wisdom begins.
Lord, I admit that I don't have all the answers. Help me stop trying to figure everything out on my own and start trusting You with what I don't understand. Teach me to ask 'how are You working' instead of 'why is this happening.'
