God told Saul to completely destroy. Saul destroyed what was worthless and kept what appealed to him. His desire mattered more than God's word. This is how sin creeps in — one tiny choice at a time. It rarely starts with a big rebellion; it starts with keeping back what appeals to us, editing the command to fit our comfort. Everyday choices are spiritual choices because they reveal who is on the throne over your life. The prayer question to ask yourself today: 'Jesus, are You leading me here, or am I leading myself?'
