Day 1: God Told Saul What? Complete Destruction

One day Samuel said to Saul, "It was the Lord who told me to anoint you as king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation — men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys." — 1 Samuel 15:1-3 (NLT)

God gave Saul a crystal-clear command: completely destroy the Amalekite nation. There was no ambiguity and no room for interpretation. Saul knew exactly what God had told him to do. Most of the time, our problem with obedience isn't that we don't know what God wants — it's that our hearts want something different than what God asked. God's command to Saul was simple and direct, and it demanded complete obedience. When we know what God is asking but hesitate, that is the moment our obedience is being tested. Today, ask yourself: is there a clear command from God you already know but haven't obeyed?

Prayer

Lord, I know what You have asked me to do. Give me the courage to obey completely instead of hesitating, explaining, or editing Your command.
