Day 6: Jesus Gives Us a Reason to Keep Going

Why Does Fear Stop Me? · With Authority · September 19, 2026

Scripture
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, "Don't be afraid! Speak out! Don't be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me." — Acts 18:9-10 (NLT)
Acts 18:9-10

Jesus is with you even when you are filled with fear, and Jesus will guard and protect you. Paul only saw the opposition — the angry crowds, the risk, the cost. But Jesus saw people who would become family: "many people in this city belong to me." Paul's fear did not disqualify him; it kept him from trusting in himself. When you are afraid, use your fear as fuel to trust in God, not yourself. The authority of God is not your confidence; it is the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in your life. The people around you who feel like opposition to Jesus may be the family He is about to bring in — and He may use your voice to reach them.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You are with me even when I am afraid. Give me Your eyes to see the people who will become family — and the courage to speak to them.
