Day 4: The Peace That Guards

Why Can't I Find Peace? · Living With Wisdom · June 27, 2026

Scripture
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:7 (NIV)
Philippians 4:7

Paul uses a military word for guard — phroureo — which means to protect with a garrison of soldiers. Imagine peace as a soldier standing watch over your heart and mind, protecting you from worry, fear, and anxiety. But notice where this peace comes: after you have prayed. After you have given it to God. Peace does not come from trying harder to be calm — it comes from handing the thing you are worried about to the only One who can do something about it.

Prayer

Father, I give You the worries that are robbing me of peace. Station Your peace like a guard over my heart and mind today.
