Day 7: The Lord Is My Shepherd

David says the Lord makes me lie down in green pastures. The image is a shepherd who knows his sheep need rest more than they know it themselves. Sheep will not lie down if they are afraid, if there is conflict, if they are hungry, or if there are flies bothering them. The shepherd has to address all of those before the sheep will rest. God does the same for you. He leads you to places of peace. He refreshes your soul. Not because you earned it — because He is a good Shepherd.
