Day 6: The Discipleship Ratio

Who Is Driving My Life? · With Authority · September 12, 2026

Scripture
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. — Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)
Matthew 28:19-20

The Bible records 52 individual days of Jesus' life. Three years is about 1,095 days — 52 days ministering to crowds, and about 1,000 days doing something else: discipling. Jesus valued discipleship overwhelmingly, pouring His life into twelve ordinary people. The mistake a whole lot of Christians make is thinking, "I'm saved, so I can be safe and protected until Heaven. I'll just sit around and enjoy life." But all of us are called to join the mission of discipling others. The moment you say yes to Jesus, you are called to disciple. What would it look like for you to invest this week in one person the way Jesus invested in His disciples?

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to disciple like You did. Show me what it looks like to pour my life into the people around me instead of just protecting my own comfort.
