Day 1: Who Is Driving My Life?

Who Is Driving My Life? · With Authority · September 12, 2026

Scripture
Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted! Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth." — Matthew 28:16-18 (NLT)
Matthew 28:16-18

Have you ever taught someone to drive? It is scary handing over control. A lot of people want Jesus in their life — Jesus in the passenger seat when they are scared, Jesus in the backseat when they want encouragement, Jesus in the trunk as emergency backup when life breaks down. But Jesus did not come to be a passenger in your life. Jesus is supposed to be King over our lives. Before Jesus gives us an assignment, before He gives us authority, before He sends us anywhere, we have to settle one question: who is driving my life? This week we begin a new series called With Authority, because Jesus has authority — and He invites us to live under His authority and carry His Kingdom into the places He sends us. It all starts today with one honest question: who is driving your life?

Prayer

Jesus, I hand You the steering wheel of my life. You are not my passenger — You are my King. Lead me, guide me, and grow me today.
