Day 3: The Journey Is Too Great for You

Where Is Jesus When I'm Anxious and Depressed? · Walking With Faith · August 15, 2026

Scripture
Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, "Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you." — 1 Kings 19:7 (NLT)
1 Kings 19:7

God does not shame Elijah for being overwhelmed. He acknowledges that what Elijah is carrying is too heavy: 'The journey is too great for you.' Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is admit, 'This is too much for me.' Walking with faith is not pretending you are fine. It is believing Jesus is with you when you are not fine. There is a reason Jesus sent the disciples out in pairs — the devil wants you alone, separated, overwhelmed. God wants to feed you, rest you, and send you with companions.

Prayer

Lord, I admit that this is too much for me. Thank You that You do not shame me for being overwhelmed — You give me what I need for the journey.
