Where Is Jesus When I'm Anxious and Depressed? · Walking With Faith · August 15, 2026
Elijah has gone from standing boldly before a nation to hiding alone under one of the smallest shelters he can find. That is what anxiety and depression can feel like — your world gets smaller, you stop doing things, and you find a place where you can be safe and hide and survive. But God finds Elijah under the tree. And God does not begin with guilt or shame or conviction. God begins with rest and food. He lets Elijah sleep, then provides bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is let yourself rest and let people provide for you.
Father, thank You that You care for my body as well as my soul. Help me receive rest and provision instead of pushing through alone.
