Day 6: The Spirit Helps Us Pray

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. — Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)

Romans 8:26-27

There are times when you do not know what to pray. The words will not come. You are too tired, too broken, too confused. In those moments, the Spirit prays for you. He intercedes with wordless groans. When you cannot find the words, the Spirit gives voice to your heart. You are never too far gone to pray, because the Spirit is praying with you.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, when I do not know what to pray, pray through me. Translate the cries of my heart to the Father.
