Day 1: The King Comes in Peace

Welcoming the King With Hope · With Hope · March 28, 2026

Scripture
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. — Zechariah 9:9 (NIV)
Zechariah 9:9

The prophet Zechariah wrote this prophecy over 500 years before Jesus rode into Jerusalem. He said the King would come righteous, victorious, and lowly — riding on a donkey. That is a strange combination. Righteous and victorious, yet lowly. The King of the universe came in humility. He did not need to prove His power with force. His power was shown in His willingness to serve. The peace He brings is not the absence of conflict — it is the presence of the King who came to make all things right.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming in humility. Help me receive You as the King You are, not the king I expect.
