David wrote 'I remain confident' and 'wait for the Lord' in the same breath. Confidence and waiting seem like opposites, but in the kingdom they go together. You can be confident that God will act while you wait for Him to act. The in-between — the time between the promise and the fulfillment — is where hope is tested and strengthened. David did not say wait passively. He said be strong and take heart. Waiting in hope is an active trust. It is choosing to believe that God is working even when you cannot see it.
Father, I choose to wait for You with hope. Give me strength and courage in the in-between. I trust that I will see Your goodness.
