Day 2: Hope That Does Not Disappoint

Walking With Hope · With Hope · April 11, 2026

Scripture
And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. — Romans 5:5 (NIV)
Romans 5:5

Paul says hope does not put us to shame — meaning it does not disappoint. Worldly hope disappoints because it is based on uncertain things. You hope the economy improves. You hope your health holds up. You hope your relationships work out. Those things are uncertain. But biblical hope is based on the love of God, which has been poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit. That love is certain. That love cannot fail. Your hope will not disappoint because the love it is rooted in will never let you go.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that my hope in You will never disappoint. Your love is poured into my heart, and that love is my foundation.
