Day 2: When You Cannot Walk

Scripture

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door... Four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd. So they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and lowered the paralyzed man on his mat. — Mark 2:1-4 (NIV)

Imagine being that paralyzed man. You cannot move. You cannot get to Jesus on your own. You need other people to carry you. Some seasons of life are like that. You do not have the strength to pray. You do not have the faith to believe. You cannot take another step. That is when you need people who will carry you to Jesus. That is not weakness — that is what the body of Christ is for.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for the people who have carried me when I could not walk. Help me receive their help with humility and gratitude.
