Paul connects baptism with the resurrection. When you go under the water, it represents death — your old life buried with Christ. When you come up out of the water, it represents resurrection — new life in Christ. The resurrection is not just a doctrine to believe. It is a reality to experience. Every single day, you can live in the power of new life. The old you is gone. The new you is here. You do not have to be defined by your past. You are defined by the risen Christ.
Father, I thank You that I have been raised with Christ to live a new life. Help me leave behind the old and walk in the new today.
