Day 1: Two Are Better Than One

Not Meant to Walk Alone · With One Another · April 25, 2026

Scripture
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. — Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Solomon makes a practical case for community. Better return on labor. Help when you fall. Warmth when it is cold. Defense against attack. The cord of three strands is a picture of two people bound together with God in the middle. God does not say try hard to be independent. He says two are better than one. The person who tries to do life alone is missing what God built into creation itself.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You did not design me to walk alone. Help me stop treating independence as a strength and start embracing the people You have placed around me.
