Day 7: Hold On, Help Is Coming

Scripture

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. — Psalm 40:1-3 (NIV)

David waited. And God heard. God lifted. God set his feet on a rock. God gave him a new song. None of that happened before the waiting. There was a pit. There was mud and mire. There was a season of waiting. But God did not leave him there. If you are in a pit today, keep waiting. Help is on the way. God hears your cry. And one day, He will set your feet on solid ground and give you a new song.

Prayer

Lord, I am waiting for You. I trust that You hear my cry. Lift me out of this pit and set my feet on solid ground. Give me a new song of praise.
