Day 6: Hope That Does Not Disappoint

My Life Is Falling Apart, What Do I Do? · With One Another · May 30, 2026

Scripture
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. — Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)
Romans 5:3-5

Paul says suffering produces something. It is not random. It is not meaningless. Suffering produces perseverance. Perseverance produces character. Character produces hope. And that hope does not disappoint. There is a progression. You do not go from suffering to hope overnight. There is a process. But on the other side of the process is a hope that will not let you down because it is rooted in God's love.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, pour God's love into my heart today. Give me hope that does not disappoint, even in the middle of my suffering.
