Day 6: Hope Changes How You Live

Scripture

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. — 1 John 3:2-3 (NIV)

John says that everyone who has this hope in Christ purifies themselves. Hope changes how you live. If you believe Jesus is coming back, it changes your choices. It changes your priorities. It changes what you pursue. You do not purify yourself to earn salvation — you purify yourself because you are saved and you know Jesus is returning. Hope is not just a comfort for the future. It is a motivation for the present. The purer your hope, the purer your life.

Prayer

Jesus, let the hope of Your return purify my heart and my choices. Help me live today in a way that honors You.
