Living With Hope · With Hope · April 18, 2026
Peter does not pretend that trials do not exist. He does not say 'if you suffer' — he says 'though now for a little while you may have had to suffer.' Trials are part of the Christian life. But he calls them 'a little while' in light of eternity. And he says these trials prove the genuineness of your faith. Gold is tested by fire. Your faith is tested by trials. And tested faith is more valuable than gold because it will result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus returns. Your trial is not meaningless. It is producing something eternal.
Jesus, when trials come, help me see them through the lens of hope. Let my faith be proven genuine and bring glory to You.
