Everything on earth eventually perishes, spoils, or fades. Your health. Your wealth. Your relationships. Your reputation. Nothing in this world is permanent. But your inheritance in Christ is permanent. It cannot perish — it is indestructible. It cannot spoil — it is perfect. It cannot fade — it is eternal. You do not have to hold tightly to the things of this world because you have something better waiting for you. Live loosely with what is temporary and hold tightly to what is eternal.
Father, thank You for an inheritance that will never fade. Help me live with open hands toward the things of this world and a firm grip on eternal things.
