Day 6: Gifts That Build the Body

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. — Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV)

Ephesians 4:11-13

The purpose of spiritual gifts is not personal fulfillment — it is the building up of the body. Paul says the gifts are given to equip God's people for works of service. The goal is maturity, unity, and fullness in Christ. Every time you use your gift, you are helping someone else grow. You are contributing to the maturity of the whole church. That is bigger than you realize.

Prayer

Jesus, use my gifts to build up Your church. Help me see that my small acts of service are part of Your bigger plan.
