There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. — Ephesians 4:4-6 (NIV)

Paul grounds our calling in unity. One body. One Spirit. One hope. One Lord. One faith. One baptism. One God. Before Paul talks about our different gifts, he establishes our shared foundation. We are not divided by our different callings — we are united by our one Lord. Your calling is not better than someone else's. Different, but not better. We need each other.

Prayer

Father, unite me with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me celebrate their gifts as much as my own.
