Day 3: Asking God First

Scripture

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. — James 1:5 (NIV)

James 1:5

He says ask God. And God gives generously. He is a Father. A good father does not get angry when his child asks, Can you help me? Now sometimes kids ask for help and then do not listen. Sometimes that is us with God. We say God, give me wisdom. God says slow down. We say no I need an answer now. It is possible to ask God for wisdom and still reject the wisdom He gives.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to ask You before I ask anyone else. When I'm facing a decision, help me come to You first instead of treating prayer as a last resort.
