Day 1: An Ordinary Day Jesus Showed Up

How to Talk About Jesus Without Making It Weird · With Purpose · November 8, 2026

Scripture
Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?” Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” — John 4:7-10 (NLT)
John 4:7-10

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, 'Is this all there is? The same struggles, the same disappointments, the same routine?' The woman at the well went out for water — another trip, another task, another ordinary day. But this time, Jesus was there. She came expecting to fill her water jar. Instead, she encountered the One who could fill her soul. People are stuck in routine, and as believers we can be ready with Jesus to change lives. Today, bring your routine to Him and let an ordinary day become a divine appointment.

Prayer

Jesus, meet me in my ordinary routine today. I came to fill my jar — fill my soul instead with Your living water.
