Day 5: A Pace You Can Sustain

How Do I Follow Jesus When I Feel Too Busy? · Walking With Faith · August 22, 2026

Scripture
If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace. — Exodus 18:23 (NLT)
Exodus 18:23

When one person is overloaded, everyone around them feels it: your spouse, your children, your coworkers, your friends, your church, and your own relationship with God. But when the load is shared rightly, two things happen — Moses can endure, and the people go home in peace. Jesus does not only care whether you survive this week; He cares whether you can walk with Him for the long haul. Like hiking beside someone with longer legs, a pace you cannot sustain feels fine for five minutes but it cannot last. Jesus gives a pace that can.

Prayer

Jesus, set my pace today. Save me from sprints that steal my endurance, and teach me a rhythm I could keep walking with You for years.
