This is one of the most familiar passages in the Bible, but do not let familiarity rob you of its power. Solomon is giving you a choice. You can lean on your own understanding — your ability to figure things out, predict outcomes, and control your environment. Or you can trust the Lord with all your heart. You cannot do both. One hand holds your plan. The other holds God's hand. You have to let go of one to hold the other. Which one are you clutching too tightly today?
Lord, I choose to trust You today. I let go of my need to have it all figured out. I put my hand in Yours and trust You to make my path straight.
