Day 6: God Is Our Refuge

Scripture

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. — Psalm 46:1-3 (NIV)

Psalm 46:1-3

The psalmist declares that God is our refuge and strength. An ever-present help — not a sometimes help, not a help when He feels like it. Ever-present. Then he describes total chaos: the earth giving way, mountains falling into the sea, waters roaring. And he says 'we will not fear.' Not because the chaos is not real. Not because the storm is not terrifying. But because God is our refuge. He is the safe place when everything else is falling apart. Run to Him. He is not going anywhere.

Prayer

God, You are my refuge and strength. When everything around me is shaking, You are my safe place. I will not fear because You are with me.
