That day when evening came, He said to His disciples, 'Let us go over to the other side.' Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along, just as He was, in the boat. — Mark 4:35-36 (NIV)

Jesus initiated the journey. He knew the storm was coming. And He got in the boat anyway. That is important because it means your storm is not a detour. It is not a mistake. It is part of the journey He has you on. He said 'let us go to the other side' — not 'let us go to the middle of the lake and sink.' He had a destination in mind. He always does. The storm is not the end of the story. The other side is.

Prayer

Lord, You know the storms I am facing. Thank You that they are not a surprise to You. Help me trust that You are taking me to the other side.
