Day 4: When Healing Feels Slow

God Is With Us in Healing · God Is With Us · February 14, 2026

Scripture
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV)
Psalm 34:17-18

When healing feels slow, it is easy to feel like God is far away. But David says the opposite. He is close to the brokenhearted. The word 'close' means near enough to touch. He is not standing at a distance watching you struggle. He is right beside you. He hears your cry. He is delivering you — even if the deliverance looks different than you expected. Sometimes the deliverance is not the removal of the pain but the presence that makes the pain bearable.

Prayer

Lord, when healing feels slow, remind me that You are near. I cry out to You. Draw close to me and save my crushed spirit.
