Day 5: Pressed but Not Crushed

Can God Really Use Me? · With Authority · October 11, 2026

Scripture
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. — 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NLT)
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Paul does not pretend the pressure is not real — pressed, perplexed, hunted, knocked down. That is honest. But every line ends with a holy "but": not crushed, not in despair, never abandoned, not destroyed. If you feel stuck or unable to be used like Peter, Amos, and everyone else God uses, name the limitation you keep using to count yourself out. Then ask God how to serve faithfully with it rather than waiting to become someone else. Weakness is not the end of your usefulness — it is the display case for His power.

Prayer

God, I name my limitation honestly before You instead of hiding behind it. Teach me to serve faithfully with it. When I am pressed, remind me I am never abandoned.
