Am I Wasting My Life? · Living With Wisdom · July 4, 2026
Paul uses the Greek word ‘exagorazō’ — a marketplace term meaning to buy something back, to rescue it from the market. It’s the same word used when Scripture says Christ redeemed us. Paul is saying your time is in a marketplace, and there are things competing to buy it, consume it, and own it. Wise people don’t just let time happen to them — they go into the market and buy it back. They make intentional, deliberate choices about where their time goes. You can’t redeem yesterday, but you can redeem today.
Jesus, You redeemed my soul — help me to redeem my days. Show me where I’m letting time slip away and give me the courage to buy it back.
