Day 2: Take Off His Filthy Clothes

Am I a Failure? · With Authority · October 4, 2026

Scripture
So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.” 5 Then I said, “They should also place a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the Lord stood by. — Zechariah 3:4-5 (NIV)
Zechariah 3:4-5

Notice that the removal happens before the explanation. Nobody argues with the stains. God simply says take them off, and then He hands over something better. Jesus does not only strip away the clothes of shame — He gives you an identity that belongs to Him. This week, when shame shows up wearing an old outfit, do not keep looking at what you were wearing. Look at what you have been given.

Prayer

Jesus, You took my sin and gave me Yourself. I accept the new clothes even when I feel like I do not deserve them. Help me see myself the way You see me today.
