Day 1: The Accuser Has a Case Against You

Am I a Failure? · With Authority · October 4, 2026

Scripture
Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.” 3 Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. — Zechariah 3:1-3 (NIV)
Zechariah 3:1-3

Read the scene slowly. Jeshua is not on trial for something he imagined — his clothes really are filthy, and God does not pretend otherwise. But look at who is speaking and who is silent. The Accuser has the floor, and the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is the one who interrupts. The word behind “Accuser” is simply accuser. He is not mistaken about your past; he is lying about your future. Ask yourself honestly today: is there a failure I keep replaying that I have actually allowed to become my identity?

Prayer

Lord, You are the God who interrupts the accusation. I bring You the places I have failed instead of defending myself. Take the shame off my heart and remind me that my future is not settled by my worst moment. Amen.
