Lighthouse 805 is a proud member of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, an evangelical Pentecostal denomination founded in 1923 with over 8 million members in 150 countries.
The name "Foursquare" comes from Ezekiel's vision (Ezekiel 1) and represents the four-fold ministry of Jesus Christ. He is our Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Coming King.
We believe that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Salvation is a free gift received through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works but by grace. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9).
We believe that divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith. The same Jesus who walked the earth healing the sick is alive today and still heals (James 5:14-16, 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to every believer. The Holy Spirit empowers us for witness, gifts us for service, and produces fruit that reflects Jesus in our lives (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Galatians 5:22-23).
We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent. He will return not as a servant, but as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This hope shapes how we live today with purpose, joy, and anticipation (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 22:12).
The Foursquare Church was founded by Aimee Semple McPherson, a pioneering evangelist who opened Angelus Temple in Los Angeles on January 1, 1923. At a time when women couldn't yet vote, she built one of the largest churches in America and launched a global movement.
During the Great Depression, Angelus Temple fed more than 1.5 million people. McPherson used radio, theatrical productions, and creative communication to share the gospel, always centering on the four-fold message of Jesus as Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Coming King.
Today, the Foursquare Church has over 67,000 churches in 150 countries with more than 8 million members worldwide. We're connected to a global family of believers who share the same core beliefs and commitment to reaching the world with the love of Jesus.
