Comma – Oxford Comma

The Oxford comma represents commas separating a list in a sentence. “I will bring a sweatshirt, blanket, and thermos of hot chocolate to the football game.” The best part of an Oxford comma is the possibility of more, of an extra comma before the “and”. That’s the best part of a “comma” or “pause” with God. It opens the possibility to an EXTRA intentional moment with God – not just for us; but for anyone observing our lives too.

Comma – Misplaced Comma

Isn’t it annoying to try and read a sentence with a bunch of misplaced commas? It makes it so difficult to read, understand, and throws off the cadence. In the same way the enemy of our soul will try to throw a bunch of un-purposeful distractions our way, to keep us from taking or recognizing the real “pause” with God. A conjunction comma is used to join two independent ideas together in one sentence. It’s about what happens in the middle to connect the before and after. No matter what we’ve allowed our identity to become, based on our life experience to date, when we take a conjunction “pause” with God; He can transform us for the destiny He’s called us to. It’s all about what happens in the middle – in that wrestle with God – that we come out the other side with our God-given identify and purpose.

Comma – Clarification Comma

The clarification comma provides import details about the sentence subject. For instance:

“The house is my favorite.” vs. “The house, with the blue door, is my favorite.”

Similarly, when we take a “comma” or “pause” with God; he provides focus, clarity, and direction. When you’re feeling stuck, lost, or confused; take a “pause” with God.
